There’s no such thing as bad weather…

My studio is in a former cotton mill in the north of England. This particular mill is Grade II listed because it is the first mill ever built with a concrete infill….which for us means it can get a tad “fresh” during the winter months. My Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival Ambassador 2018 “T”-shirt arrived from Naomi just in the nick of time….another layer to protect me from the chill. Someone (many actually including the Norwegians, Billy Connolly and Wainwright) said, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, there’s just inappropriate clothing.” Well, I can think of nothing more appropriate than this “T”-shirt when I’m in my studio surrounded by paintings inspired by the truly awesome musicians from the 2017 Colne festival…..and here’s looking towards the 2018 festival! If you are really, REALLY quick you’ll see paintings inspired by Lachy Doley, Crosscut Saw, Tom Attah, Kaz Hawkins, Ian Siegal, Jo Harman, Janiva Magness, Elles Bailey, Gerry Jablonski, Yoka And The Sugarbeats, Gwyn Ashton, Lisa Mills and there’s also an unfinished canvas on the easel featuring John Fairhurst..along with an unfinished canvas leaning up featuring Ten Years After.
