Demo and presentation to Bolton Art Circle

I was invited to deliver an oil painting demonstration to members of Bolton Art Circle. The problem with this sort of thing is that I do not have a system or formula for starting a painting. For example if I am working on a series of similar themed works, I am likely to start one with the figures and another with the background. Therefore any “demo” does not really fully represent how I work. For this reason I prefer to deliver a slide show presentation on the different ways I approach the start of works. I then deliver a demo on painting (or printmaking). The lovely folk at Bolton Art Circle were patient with me and seemed to enjoy the two-fold session which comprised of an “art-talk” and then a 40 minute demo using oil paint on board.
