Wishbone Ash 50 years!

47 years ago when I was 16 years old someone I knew was playing his tape cassette player on the back seat of the bus and I was hooked on the music! I had no idea at the time who the band was but he told me it was someone called “Wishbone Ash”. My tastes have developed and changed over the years but I have never tired of the twin lead guitar sound of Wishbone Ash. I’ve seen Andy Powell play his Flying V guitar with many partners, including Ted Turner, Laurie Wisefield, Mark Birch, Ben Granfelt, Muddy Manninen and most recently Mark Abrahams and I’ve never been disappointed.

Last year I was unable to attend the Wishbone Ash convention, “AshCon 2018”, because I had already agreed to exhibit at the Manchester Art Fair and the dates clashed…DAMN! In 2016 and 2017 I was privileged to exhibit my Wishbone Ash inspired paintings and prints at “AshCon 2016” and “AshCon 2017”.

I have spent this afternoon preparing for my exhibition at AshCon 2019…here’s a few “tasters” but to see the whole thing you’ll just have to wait for ASHCON 2019!

Having seen Wishbone Ash at The Jam House, Edinburgh last Saturday night I am really looking forward to exhibiting and seeing them again on this the 50th Anniversary tour…Saturday at the Y Theatre, Leicester cannot come soon enough!
