Etchings at Bolton Art Gallery

I visited Bolton Art Gallery yesterday to view the Greater Manchester Arts Prize Exhibition. In attending I stumbled across a smaller exhibition celebrating Walt Whitman where etchings by Mary Nimmo Moran and Thomas Moran are on show. The etchings are both beautiful and powerful and REALLY should not be missed. I implore any of you interested in etching to visit this exhibition. Anyone wanting to see work displaying an exquisite understanding of the landscape will not be disappointed in the sensitive and often dynamically drawn etchings. A splendid find and completely unexpected.

I will be returning to study and to enjoy the etchings of Mary Nimmo Moran and Thomas Moran.
